Shakedown Cafe serves as a relaxed hang-out, serving coffee and cake during the day, turning to cocktails and nibbles at night. This is also where you’ll find Shakedown coffee, Provisioners’ in-house roasted blend. Inspired by the building’s past as a Magistrates’ Court and Police station, Shakedown coffee has been created to encapsulate stories from a previous time. Named after a slang term used when prison officers raided cells in an attempt to find contraband, Shakedown coffee symbolises the idea of having something so good that it needs to be hidden.
